China has set up a permanent scientific investigation station in Antarctica for the purpose of scientific investigation in Antarctica. Located on the Fildes Peninsula in the west of King George Island in the South Shetland Islands of Antarctica, it is adjacent to the Great Wall Bay, a small bay in Maxwell Bay in the East.
