However, there are still some gaps in the theorization of template effect and the application of template effect in practice. In this study, we propose a method to control the template effect of IIPs by adjusting the crosslinking ratio. A series of Cr (VI) - IIPs with different crosslinking agent contents were synthesized. Based on the qualitative analysis of coordination selectivity and template effect, the theoretical equation of template effect produced by crosslinking agent was established by using Scatchard equation. In the process of Cr (VI) removal, when the molar ratio of functional monomer to crosslinking agent is 1 / 5.46, the contribution of template effect begins to exceed the coordination effect, and the template effect is further enhanced with the increase of crosslinking agent content. In the practical application of wastewater treatment, iip-1 / 12 and iip-1 / 6 designed according to the obtained equation can effectively treat two different types of wastewater. The standardization equation and design concept proposed in this study theoretically explain the effect of crosslinking agent on material selectivity. This provides greater flexibility for the design and application of template effect of ion imprinting technology.Effect of crosslinking agent on polymer template effect: Taking anionic imprinted polymer as an example, the data set is obtained by experimental method.
