TY - Data T1 - Material balance data set of Laohugou glacier No.12, Qilian Mountains from 2012-2015 A1 - None DO - 10.12072/ncdc.CCI.db0048.2020 PY - 2020 DA - 2020-12-03 PB - National Cryosphere Desert Data Center AB - This data includes the single point material balance data of Laohugou glacier No.12 in Qilian Mountains from 2012 to 2014 and the material balance data of elevation zone in 2015. Based on the flower pole / snow pit method, the material balance is the algebraic sum of the accumulated amount and the melting amount of the glacier surface area, which reflects the average fluctuation of the material balance of the ice surface per unit area relative to the end of the previous material balance.According to the field observation data, the single point material balance of flower rod observation is as follows: (1) BN, Bi, BS and BSI represent the single point material balance, glacier ice, snow cover and additional ice balance values respectively. The calculation results are marked on the large-scale glacier map and topographic map, and the ablation and accumulation values are drawn within the contour range with a spacing of 50m. In addition, the water equivalent accumulated by the ablation of flower stalks and snow pits at 4700m is calculated. The accumulated and ablated areas between two adjacent contours were measured respectively, and then the pure accumulation C, pure ablation a and mass balance value B of glaciers in the melting area were calculated step by step.By using ArcGIS software and using spatial interpolation method to draw the contour map, the material balance of the whole glacier can be calculated. The annual net balance B of the whole glacier is: šµ = āˆ‘ā»•ā»• (ā»šā»• / sā»•1) (2), where Si is the projected area of two adjacent isolines, Bi is the average net balance of Si, n is the total number of Si, and S is the total area of glacier.
