Its ecological status is very important. This dataset is based on two consecutive years of investigation in Wuliangsuhai, collecting benthic diatom samples on site, referring to domestic and foreign monographs and journals, and constructing the Wuliangsuhai benthic diatom dataset according to the commonly used classification system in China. This dataset investigates a total of 70 species of benthic diatoms, belonging to 12 families and 31 genera, with the dominant genus being the Rhombophyta genus. The abundance of benthic diatoms in Wuliangsu ranges from 87.5-1333.3 cells/cm2, with an average abundance of 12042.2 cells/cm2. The dataset includes 7 fields: sampling site, sampling year, Chinese family name, Chinese genus name, Chinese name, Latin name, and abundance, totaling 152 data points. The Wuliangsu benthic diatom dataset can provide scientific basis for the prevention and control of water pollution and the protection of aquatic biodiversity in the Wuliangsu Sea.
